BIPOC Community

We honor the unique experiences, strengths, and resilience of individuals from Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) communities. At Great Oaks Therapy Center, we are committed to creating a space that is affirming, culturally responsive, and grounded in deep respect and understanding. Our therapists recognize the impact of systemic and generational factors on mental health and work collaboratively with clients to support healing, empowerment, and connection.

The therapists listed below have pursued additional training and/or supervision to more deeply support and create a sense of safety for individuals within the BIPOC community. Please note: If a therapist is not listed, it does not necessarily mean they do not work with BIPOC clients; it simply reflects that this is not an area in which they have pursued specialized training or supervision at this time.

Michelle

I am committed to creating an affirming and culturally responsive space for BIPOC clients. I will never assume safety but rather continually work to deepen my understanding and practice. I have pursued training with thought leaders in anti-racism and social justice, including Dr. Robin DiAngelo, author of White Fragility, and engaging in The Great Unlearn program by Rachel Cargle. These experiences have shaped my approach to therapy, ensuring that I remain accountable, reflective, and intentional in supporting clients across diverse cultural identities.
